My favorite thing to do is to go to www.crucial.com (crucial makes great RAM) and run their online utility to tell you what RAM you can use and how much you can use.
Dont *buy* it there, as it costs twice as much when you buy it from the manufacturer, use tigerdirect.com or newegg.com...
Also, the online utility only seems to work using Internet Explorer, so if you favor another browser, use IE for that particular session.

I've never heard of a computer that did'nt have enough memory to run a printer ! I had one with only 64MB, and it worked fine. Shut down your computer and then unplug it. Remove the side cover and touch something metal...Look on the motherboard. You should see a memory card that is held in place by white clips. Undo the top and bottom clips and remove the card. It should tell you what it is. Memory is cheap, But you need to know what you need to buy. A place like www.tigerdirect.com might be able to help you. Yes, you can do it yourself. It's the most easy upgrade you can do. And it won't take more than 10 or 15 minutes...

Easy on most computers. Unplug. Remove case. Remove present RAM chip (may be held in place by clips on each end). Take it to a vendor. (There are a number of different chips. Having an original saves headache over getting another.). You very likely have a second or third empty slot in parallel with the one you took out, into which you will plug in a new one, along with the old one. Get the largest RAM ability you can. Plug them in. Re-istall case and turn the computer on! That's it!

Unfortunately, there is no way to increase you system's RAM without purchasing something. You computer's RAM consists of physical chips that are attached to your motherboard; since they are physical chips, you cannot simply "obtain" more of them (unless you steal them).

As far as doing it yourself, it is the easiest operation a you can perform on your computer, but keep in mind that you need to know what kind of RAM your computer takes.

First of all, you need to open your computer and locate how many RAM chips you have installed, and how many free RAM slots you have. If you have an empty RAM slot, you can simply clip another chip into it. If you don't have an empty RAM slot, you will need to replace one of the chips already in your computer with something greater in memory than what you already have.

To determine how many RAM chips and slots you have, look around on the motherboard of your computer and look for a four or five inch long chip standing perpendicular to your computer. It will have clips on both ends of it. There may be more than one. If you locate the perpendicular chip, see if there are any empty slots immediately next to it. If there is an empty slot, all you need to do is buy another chip and stick it in; if not, you will need to take one chip out and replace it with one of greater capacity.

To remove a chip, press down the clips on both ends of it, and it will loosen or pop out.

To add a chip, locate the notches on the chip and the notches in the slot. Make sure you line them up, or the chip won't fit. After aligning the chip to the slot on the motherboard, push it down firmly on both ends. If you do it correctly, you will hear a click and the clips will lock into place. If the chip won't go in, even with a firm push, then you need to check again and see if you aligned it correctly.

That's a basic run down on how to install RAM. This is a very general description of the procedure and may vary with your machine. If you provide more information about your machine, more specific instructions will be available.

Usually to increase the ram you needto buy more. however its is posible to increase a little bit of the ram with paying anything

the thing is lets say you video card uses 128 mb. you can reset the cards settings to use only 64 and the remaining 64 mb will be additional ram.

Still i thin the best solution is buying more ram or getting a new comp (that way you can upgrade everthing)

You do not have enough memory to run a printer???
What have you got, is it made of stone?????
I think you need a new computer!
Open the case, with the power OFF!
And remove the RAM chip.
Put it in a anti-static bag, and take it to your local computer shop, and ask for a better one.
And YES it is going to cost you money!

a million gig is superb for customary initiatives. 2gigs is dazzling, yet "if it ain't broke, do not restore it" really. Vista needs a minimum of 512 kb of ram as well to the computer. you may likely open at maximum a million or 2 classes with 512. yet because you've a gig, you need to be superb. in common words improve in case you pick to. it isn't necessary
