how to process information. aka being open to it, being critical of it. thinking for themselves, forming opinions, being curious, wanting the whole picture, before making a judgment. and a background of good solid ethics to help them form just and good opinions.
if you dont know how to process new information, then even if u do understand, tolerance for example, thats it. theres no saying u will be able to understand or accept other ideas. if people could learn to reason things out on their own, and come to their own conclusion about tolerance, or any other subject, i think it wud be awesome. because if u teach a kid to accept tolerance with out teaching them "why", all u have taught them is to accept others opinions no questions asked. there is no real saying if they actually agree or believe in what tolerance stands for.

as an employer, i'd be thrilled if schools could develop a class in practical thinking, especially to train people the principles of working EFFICIENTLY. it would basically be teaching young folks to use their brains for more than absorbing facts and figures.

Real life stuff - like how to do checkbooks, how to find a real job that you like - how to invest money - anything to help you not live paycheck to paycheck and have a little left over sometimes....

I think they need to step up their sex education program. My kids have learned way more from me educating them than they ever will from the school.

.....D.....I went to all private catholic schools when I was younger.....I could have said mass in latin, I always thought they needed to teach us about LIFE and to LOVE ourselves and one another......and how to do an oil change...yea love kara
