Soviet Union (CCCP) and it was called the Summit Series not the super series. the best series ever in the world of sports.

Every one is correct - The 1972 Summit Series, as it eventually came to be known, was the first competition between Soviet Union and Canadian national ice hockey teams.

Did you know the series was 8 games long and if the final game ended in a tie, the Soviets were going to claim victory because they had scored more goals in the series.
