Is it a washable ink on a painted or varnished or Formica desk surface? If so you might be able to get it off with water or nail polish remover. If it sunk into the wood try Murphy's oil soap.
Otherwise you might need to get a desk accessory bigger than a dime and put it over the spot.

Alcohol alone probably won't do the job with that type of a spot. Dip a q-tip or cotton swab into the alcohol, then dip that in some baking soda, and it should rub out well. It seems to work even better if you use your finger.
Your wood finish may be slightly affected, but go over it with some furniture polish when you're done and it shouldn't be too noticable.
Hope that helps!

If it is your desk why would your husband have anything to say about it? I would take my time and consult a professional for the best possible advice, if you want to keep it as nice as possible. If you people are such freaks about your furniture, perhaps you should get a sheet of glass/plexiglass cut to fit your desktop and avoid this type of situation all together.
