what would you do if there is someone
pretending to make you as her/his bestfriend, but actually, she/he makes you as her/his rival?

i think you should always watch his/her moves...its better to be always alert for something may have happened unexpected...

remember the saying:
"keep your friend close but keep your enemies closer..."

don't treat her/him as someone you know will stab you in the back...i mean don't let him/her notice that you already knew about his/her "hidden" desires...just always watch your back..and try to treat him/her as nice as you could...

i think getting even is not a good thing to think about...just show him/her how nice you are and maybe he/she will come to realized that you are not worth fighting with instead a friend who is worth keeping...

I've been in that situation. You have many choices. For me, I just ignore, and play nice when that person is nice, and be evil to that person if said person is evil to me. Easy. No fights, no one gets hurt. [Well, maybe except for me? =_=]
