I'm kind of older (I'm 27) and have never had sex. I've had opportunities but I'm too nervous/afraid to do it. How do I get over my fears?

When you meet the right person for you the nervousness will go away and you will know that the time is right.

It all depends on why you are nervous or have fear. It is perfectly natural that you would be nervous about something you have never done, particularly sex.
However, if your fear is unreasonable than it could be something else that is causing your fears other than normal nervousness.
I personally, don't believe in sex outside of marriage so for me I would be nervous about having sex to someone I was not married to.
Also, you may not be comfortable having sex casually, but you may be fine with someone you are in a relationship with.
It's really hard to tell because I don't know you, and I don't know if what you are feeling is normal or something else.
If you think it's really a problem then you may want to seek some counseling to find out if you have a real problem or not.
Lastly, don't be in a hurry to have sex just for the sake of doing so because you don't have anything to prove. I've known some people who were in there 30's and 40's who had not had sex because they chose to wait until marriage.

Not having sex is not a problem. You've obviously felt that the opportunities weren't with the right person. You don't need to get over any fears, just keep trusting your instincts until you find the right person to share this part of you with.

Maybe you are trying too hard and need to relax or bit. Or maybe you are going after the wrong partner to experiment with. Maybe a guy is not who you feel more comfortable experimenting with the first time. Maybe you need another girl to help you try different things out first to get up more of your courage.

It would be better if you love the person and they love you. make sure it is someone that respect you and have patient with you. take your time and make sure to stay safe, if he/she doesn't want to use protection, then you use some form of protection, relax your heart will let you know when the time is right.
