Try ebay first and see how much people are willing to pay for it.

It's hard to answer without knowing what kind of art you are looking to sell. My mom does really nice water colors that she sells framed for about $150. But if you could get your art work hanging in a high traffic area - like a restaurant or a hairdresser that would let you put your card on it, then I'd give the pictures away.

If you create oil paintings and choose to produce them with a giclee, which is a fine etching reproduction, then the going rate (depending on size) is about $4000 for the original and $400 for the copy. Figure that ratio. Certainly, it would differ depending upon the medium, ie. charcoal drawings, ceramics, oil, watercolors, etc. Look at what is offered at the various galleries online and at eBay and then decide. Best of Luck!

Sit down and figure out your overhead - art supplies, materials, packaging, etc. Add in the cost of "reproducing it" (I assume you mean making prints?). Figure out how many hours went into it's production and set an hourly $ amount for your time and effort. Now put all that all together and add 20%.

(supplies + production costs + hourly labor) + 20%

Consider the amount of time you invested to make the artwork first, then figure out how much your time is worth to you as a "wage". What would you consider an acceptable wage for doing what you do?....$9 per hour? $15 per hour? $25 per hour?

Also think about, how much would the buyer consider a "fair price" for buying your artwork?
