Punk is what you make it. Pop culture has tried to package it over the past thirty years with bands like the sex pistols good charlotte and those other money making endeavors disguised under the guise of punk. Punk rock is taking your belief and sticking to it no matter what, so to sum it up go against the grain and take care of yourself because nobody else will. Be your own person whether it be your fashion, music or lifestyle. The thing I've heard over and over for the past 12 years I've been in and around the "punk" scene if you want to label it that is "DIY" Do It Yourself.

I'll take this answer from my idol, Maja.
Punk rock is dangerous, "the devil's music" if you will. It's meant to scare those who don't want to seek it's inner meaning, but draws in those who are attracted to the sheer danger and attitude of it. It means different things for all different people.

it is the clash and the sex pistols.. not the 'punk rock' that is around now.. if you call green day, good charlotte and ashlee simpson punk rock, you've got no idea..

you cannot describe what is punk....most professional musicians cannot even explain it....but i know one thing! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH STYLE.
