is the voss-lr the best gun in battlefield 2142?

The Voss is a great gun, but it does depend on the situation. I have the Voss, Baer, Heavy and Light Machine guns. I use the assault almost exclusively now, though I did like the light machine gun - The heavy was way to inaccurate for me to hit anything with and is only unlock I regret.

I prefer the Voss for City maps and defending or attacking the Titans. Good accuracy, hit ammo capacity, low recoil -- great gun. This would be the gun I would always choose if I could only have one per game or did not know what type of game it would be.

I prefer the Baer for more open maps - particularly titans before boarding. Much better at range with great stopping power. I have used it as cheap sniper rifle somewhat effectively. Good Accuracy at range and hits hard. Cons low ammo capacity, slower sweep rate (my opinion - do not know if this is true) to track bunny-hoppers and heavy recoil.


If you look at the leader board, you will see alot of the use the Lambert (assault rifle in the recon tree). I have not used it, but I have heard that it is pretty good.

It's one of them. People who pre-ordered the game from Best Buy also got a really good one for free download.
