Religion.

I would say family or peers, except that I think that religion can be one of the cultural tools that brings together a person's social network.

Youv'e captured most but theres still a lot more you could add. An individuals political perspectives would have a lot to do with their environment ... where they live, how they eat, their culture, their upbringing etc. Freedom, is another contributing factor for those that live or want others to live without constraints.

My work (caring for people with disabilities) defines some of my political agendas because I believe in equal opportunities for all. And also caring for our planet or misuse or exploitation of our planet and its resources can prompt me to be politically pro-active because it WILL determine the very future of our planet and the human race.
