Firstly you can't resize a system partition without additional software. But there is one solution:
you can move your music files somewhere and then insert an original Windows Disk for fresh install and during the installation it will let you to decide how you want to partition your hard drive. Then you can just move back your media library to fresh created partition. In case you have some important data besides your music you need to backup it first. For backup purposes I'd highly recommend you to use a free version of True Image by Acronis.

By default when you get a PC, all of the disk space is allocated to one partition.

You don't really gain anything by setting up multiple partitions unless you plan to install another operating system.

You can resize the partition using a product called partition magic. Just make sure you back up your data.

All personal computers come with only one partition.
About the only reason to set more partitions is if you are planning on running multiple operating systems. If this is the case, then you need to run a partition program such as Partition Magic.
