I would say for marriage or something. You can just change them into the outfit for fun, I suppose

well if you ever have a party at your place, or you buy the sims 2 glamour, you will have you know formal stuff, or when they're getting engaged and all, you can fancy up the place and make them wear fancily..
or you could just wear the fancy stuff lol
