We were quoted $400 CDN for both my husband and I, do you think thats legit?

That is a very reasonable amount to have an attorney do a will for both of you. While you can do it yourself, just remember you get what you pay for!!

The attorney will ensure everything is correct & proper.

Depends how complex your estate is. You can draw up your own will for a few dollars - just get a will kit from any office supply store or stationers. If you have a simple estate - some money and a house for example, and want to leave it to your spouse and/or the kids, that doesn't need any special legal skill to write.
