I recieved a list from my ObGyn, with all the acceptiable meds. you can take. If you have not recieved one, I would ask at your next visit. Also, when you go to the pharmacy to buy some, you can always ask the pharmacist, they know everything about meds. and would be able to tell you what OTC cold meds. is best for pregnant women.

Good Luck! I hope you feel better soon!

P.S. hee is a website that is a great resource, has what you should avoid in the OTCs and what you can use...hope it helps!

The general consensus is that the only medication a pregnant woman is able to take safely is Tylenol. Any sort of illness feels much worse than usual during pregnancy. It's best to rest a lot, drink lots of fluids, and tough it out.

always examine such as your OB, yet i have had a sinus an infection and chilly for occurring a month now :( there is no longer a lot accessible this is shown secure to take (and that contain organic treatments.) My OB advised me to sparingly take primary potential Sudafed, yet only for short sessions of time and for the bottom dosage even as i could not manage the sinus discomfort and stress. She also counseled cough drops, Vicks Vapo Rub (my new maximum perfect chum) tea with honey and lemon, saline spray and a Neti pot. those are all "classification A" drugs - meaning they're shown completely secure on your toddler. Sudafed is a classification C - they're extremely particular this is wonderful yet no trials have (or ever will be) performed on the fetus,.

Do NOT take any medicine with out talking to your doctor first, I am sure he will let you take something but you want to make sure it is safe before you take anything because there is not much a pregnant woman can take for colds or anything for that matter.

When i was pregnant, my midwife told me not to take any cold medication. medications only help with the symptoms. your immune system has to fight the cold off. so taking medication actually don't help with the cold itself. She did advised me to take Regular strength Tylenol if i developed a fever. oh if the fever is over 101 then you should go to er.
i hope this helps!!!

My doctor said that dimatap is fine, and halls, if you have a sore throat.

If you have a stuffy nose, try a saline solution, its just salt and water.

You can take Sudafed (plain), tylenol, saline nasal spray. That's it. Ask your doctor to be sure.

You are best off calling your doctor and asking her to advise you on this.
