It is reffered to as sports entertainment. That is the case, because what you see is a careful combination of theater, self-mutilation, and pure athleticism.
You must be willing to do whats best for the business, no matter how objective you are of it. Do you think Rey Mysterio or the Gurreros WANTED to do a storyline exploiting the death of Eddie Guerrero? Of course not. But they did, because it's what was felt to be best for the business.
These guys are the most athletic actors, and some of them could top athletes in such companies as the NFL, UFC, or PRIDE.
So to answer your question of if WWE is real or not-

WWE is fake. If you go on any wrestlign forum, you will see that things are predicted from leaks of info weeks before they happen. For one.

I knew Taker was gonna win the rumble weeks before it happened. I know this because someone leaked the info inside wwe and they gave it to someone who posted it in a forum.

On one occasion, you could see Vince do it. Also, why do you think that wrestlers are face down whenever they start to bleed. You will also notice that something like a flat chair to the head wouldn't cut you.

Heels wouldn't have to cheat to win a match all the time.

Out of match fighting wouldn't happen and if it did, the two involved would be banned for a long time.

People would bleed in more places than just their face.

They wouldn't have cleared Cena to wrestle with a ruptured spleen like he supposedly did at the rumble.

Their would be alot more fist fighting and less of these other moves that if real, would be easier countered.

The wrestlers would say **** and other vulgar insulting words that they don't say.

One guy would not be able to take out 10 like we see in "bursts of momentum".

You wouldn't have someone like Val Venis lose to Orton in eight seconds. Their wouldn't be such thing has a jobber.

Khali wouldn't take down 12 people in the rumble and throw 7 over the top and than have one guy being the Undertaker throw him over.

it is all fake but some of it is real like back when Brock Lesnar was wrestling Kurt Angle for the WWE tile at wrestlemania. He did the superstar splash and got hurt badly. If it was real Kurt would've won but instead he had to stick with the script and compromised to make Brock win.

sorry to say, wrestling is fake. But its SO cool to watch. Anyhow, some can be real, but by accident. Did you happen to catch Joey Mercury in Armageddon. That was totally a mistake, where he had to get plenty of stitches and such in his face.

Pro wrestling is real. They really go out and toss each other around, hit each other with stuff, bleed, jump of things on to each other and stuff. As far as is athletic competition goes, no. Its all staged, sometimes before hand and sometimes on the fly, but regardless the matches are all fixed.
