My hubby and I are naming our child after my grandmother and mother in law. Please no rude comments, but we wanted to know which names you liked best. Also which spellings.

Kathryn Alise
Kathryn Elise
Kathryn Alice
Katherine Alise
Katherine Elise
Katherine Alice
Catherine Alise
Catherine Elise
Catherine Alice

I do not like the name Alice as much personally myself. But it is only because Alice reminds me to much of Wonderland. I know it's a wierd reason but it's the truth. I was just wondering what everyone else thought. Open to any comments as long as they are not rude.

How about taking a variation on the name Alice like Alicia? Alicia Katherine sounds pretty. Does Katherine have to be the first name?

In my personal opinion [not being rude] i'm not sure about naming a child directly after someone else, the child will always be known as this and isn't really given the oppertunity to develop as a their own individual person, so I'd rather they just had a connection e.g Alice/Alicia or Katherine/Katie/Katerina. Your decision though, they all sound beautiful.

Good Luck!

Kathryn Elise gets my vote! Also - think about nicknames...the people I know that are spelled Catherine usually go by Cathy, people spelled Katherine are Kathy or Kat but the Kathryn's I know are both Katie's.

Kathryne Alyce ("Kath-REEN Ah-LEES")

Sometimes ordinary names can be made unique just by unusual spelling/pronounciation. Plus, it's "ah-LEES" instead of Alice, so it should help with the Wonderland thing :), though i personally love Alice in Wonderland. Trippy:P. Anyway, i hope you like my suggestion. I think it seems kind of "Old Hollywood", like Jayne Mansfield or Bette Davis.
