Could someone tell me the 8 parts of speech and what they mean? I really need help! I'm really stupid when it comes to grammar so I really need HELP!!!

noun person, place or thing

adjective describes a noun

adverb answers the questions: When, where, how,
why

verb an action

preposition links nouns, pronoun and phrases to other
word in the sentence

conjunction used to link words: and, but, or, nor, yet
so

interjection conveys emotion "Oh"

Type "parts of speech" into the space on a web search, including the quotation marks. Click on Go or Search, and choose the first thing that pops up. Then try the second or third item.

Noun: Person, Place, Animal, or Thing

Proper Noun: not the "city" but the city "New York for exampe gets a capital letter while a noun like "crayon" doesn't, c wat i mean?

Verb: An Action word like "Swimming" or "Diving"

Preposition: A word like "againest" or "on" or "beneath" or "beside and on and on...

Adverb: A word that describes a verb(usally ending in ly) like "He was 'swimming' 'FANTASTICLY'!!"

Pronoun: A pronoun replaces a noun like "he" or "which"

Adjective: A describing word like "blue" or "smelly"

Noun - person, place or thing

adverb - describes a verb (usually ends in ly)
