My oldest daughter would do that when she was a baby. (She's 5 now, and still has bouts with this sometimes). The reason HER cheeks would be red, (of course she had and all over rash also) and through experimentation, we found it she was allergic to the red dyes in drinks, sodas especially. Anything with artifical red dye, she would break out with red splotches ALL over. Your baby, if he/she only has redness in the cheeks, it's probably just due to he/she being a little warm, from clothing or temp. in the home. But I would keep an eye on how his body reacts to different foods, drinks, etc. Because this could possibly be the culprit. If it's really worrysome, ask your ped.to check him/her out or have him refer you to a dermatologist. Good luck and Best wishes!!!

That was one sure sign my daughter was getting sick. Her cheeks always turned (still do & she is almost 7!) bright red and then I knew it was coming in a day or two! That is always our little warning sign! But I think that she gets that from her dad, he does the same thing. Most of the time if a babies face gets a little flushed it is from being a little over-warm. Try changing their clothes and putting on something alittle lighter. If that doesnt work and the this persists, I would contact the dr. just for sure! Good luck!

My 1 1/2 year old almost always has rosey cheeks. It's just part of how she looks lol. I think it's cute. Her doctor has never said anything about it being abnormal. But it is winter so you might want to try to keep his little face covered really well when you are outside (no matter how short a time). Just in case his cheeks are getting "windburn"

My sons both did the same thing. I freaked with my first and took him to a pediatrician. He told me it is normal as they can get warm sometimes or that it is just increased blood flow (toddlers have faster circulation than us adults) and get real flushed (bright red sometimes all over the face and hands too). I was told not to worry unless a fever or rash started. I was also told it is brigher / redder in kids with lighter skin or hair color too. My 1 son is very blonde and fair so his cheeks are red alot.

He could have rosacea. My bf has it. When he gets warm his cheeks turn really red. He doesn't feel hot to the touch. It's just a skin pigmentation thing. If it doesn't go away by morning, you might make an appointment just to be safe.

If you live in a cold climent and you have been outside it could be a chapped face. If he is eating fine and he does not have any fever then as you guessed you have nothing to worry about, but do keep an eye.

In this case I don't think anything is wrong. Monitor him and if he changes call the doctor, or if symptoms are still present in the morning. Or if you just feel uneasy about it call the doctor, mother's intuition. Pediatricians are used to getting calls after hours from new parents and expect it, it's part of their job, so don't feel bad about calling for this or any reason if you are worried.

If he doesnt have a fever and is eating and drinking well he is probably fine. He is probablely starting to teeth or it may just be from the cold weather. If your still concerened mention it to your pediatrician

It could be that he needs to have on lighter clothes while hes in the house. To many clothes on a child that age can cause them to look a little flushed in the skin. If hes sweating a lot try lighter layers of clothing.

My son's cheeks always seems to get red. It usually is when he is overdressed or just to hot. Sometimes he gets a little drool rash on his cheeks also. We use Aveeno baby lotion and it seems to clear it right up...otherwise we just make sure he isn't over dressed. I hope this helps you.
