The one who is hardest on the kid. Well I see this common in girls, and with boys it is opposite. Why?

i dont know. i think men are just a little more relaxed than women are. (most men anyway)

Moms spend more time usually and have more moments when they need to say no or hand out discipline.
Even in a more "modern" household men seem to spend more time at work and have more hobbies and clubs to spend their time rather than going home.
Men think that by being rough on their boys they will make men out of them. Men who are insecure like to feel that women need them rather than having an equal relationship. Some girls unfortunately get the wrong message about how to get materialistic needs met from their father's reaction to their manipulation.

Because someone has to make and enforce the rules, and most of the time the dad just won't do it. Usually they want to be their kids' buddy so they don't want to have to be the bad guy.

I am a girl, and my dad was always the 'mean' one. My mom always let me do whatever i wanted. My dad would buy my mom chocolates, and say that the kids were not allowed to have any, but my mom would always sneak them to us.

I think it just looks that way from the outside. Inside it may very well be the opposite...just cause something looks good, doesn't mean that it is.

Neither of my parents is mean, but my dad is stricter than my mom. And that's how it will be with my kids. Hopefully.

I think it just depends on the family. My dad was always the authoritarian--It just depends on what personalities have kids together.
