The federal government has no right to spy on its citizens at all. They should obey the Fourth Amendment. They need a warrant and probable cause and to be sworn under oath before a judge. This is to limit the government's powers so it can't just spy on anybody it feels like. If we forget this then we will be living in a totalitarian police state.

Your avatar makes you look quite young. There's a great book you might want to read called "1984" that I think will show you what kind of society could become a reality if our government continues to be allowed to break what is current law, and pursue its aggessive domestic spying agenda.

Why or Why Not? Perhaps you should go read the constitution, particularly amendments 4 and 6. That should explain it, although the Patriot Act, which was pushed into law illegally, has effectively canceled them. http://www.jonhs.net/911/ for the truth you haven't heard.

It is domestic if it's listening to US citizens. Period. The truth will come out very soon.

Not with out strict controls, probable cause, warrants and a good reason based on evidence. Otherwise we are just another totolitarian police state - or we are headed that way. Who watches the watchers?

yes they should...surprising answer from a liberal? no, because if the Executive branch is overseen by the judicial and the Legislative rulings are seen to be the laws they are...everything will work...it is the unseen abuse by the Executive branch that will abuse us the most
