Dress code. 30 years ago there were plenty of places where people dressed traditionally. Now it's becoming a tourist attraction.
Language. 30 years ago shops products and in general consumer goods had Greek names only imported gods had foreign names Now you can not tell them apart. There is also a plethora of English words in the Greek vocabulary. Architecture.it got so bad that the central archaeological committee had to step in and save traditional architecture.

Because of "Ecterbob's answer, I feel free to actually answer a question here! I have been skulking around here for a while, reading a lot of the Q&A's (and learning a lot in the process by the way!), but usually don't have the guts to actually participate. (I'm such a little weenie.) Whenever I read answers that I really appreciate (whether or not I agree with them), I will sometimes add that person to my list of Contacts. (If "Ecterbob" is reading this, I just added you too!) The only thing I can say in answer to how I ended-up here is my interest in learning what people think about all the different topics that R&S brings to the table. I have learned so much from my "skulking" here! :-) It does sadden me to see all of the negativity and hatefulness that goes on here, but at the same time, there is also a lot of respect shown here, along with very interesting dialogue, from people of differing beliefs, and that's what most interests me! I guess that truly is what keeps me coming back here all the time.

2. The influence of Venetians on Rhodes, Crete and other islands.
3. The influence of Turks on the whole of Greece. It was a 400 years occupation period and it has influenced several aspects of culture and daily life.

One of them perhaps if it is of interest to you is the development of writing starting with Linear A and the influence of the Phoenician alphabet on the development of the Greek equivalent. The Greeks to make a more euphonic language inserted vowels etc, but I will not write the assignment for you. You got to do some on your own.

1Food - Greeks and Arabs eat very similar dishes
2Music- Instruments and rhythms are taken from their previous Turkish rulers.
3Lykie or open markets- held in the streets of all villages once a week comes from the Arabs.
I once met a Palestinian woman living in Athens and she told me she almost did not know she was living in a non Arab country because Greece was so similar to the Middle East in culture, food and music.
