And yet we are always willing to accept any "free" service offered by local or national government. We take advantage of every tax loophole we can dig up. And don't dare try to limit our access to federal or state relief programs. If there is a storm the governor had better declare a disaster so we can get federal dollars, etc. If our house floods because we built it below sea level the President himself had better bring us a check.
Where shall we draw the line of give and take?

Who, exactly, is this "we" you are referring to? Unless you are part of the roughly 35% (and falling) that openly supports this President, then, there ISN'T any "we". Very few politicians have been poor. Most come from fairly privileged backgrounds, have attended the best schools, and have held lofty positions as well-paid whatevers before entering politics. This doesn't mean that they can't do the right thing for the underprivileged. It only means that they choose not to. We "sit back and let the white house make our decisions" because the people that are in positions to MAKE those decisions were ELECTED, by voters.
The best way to affect change to to cast your vote (you ARE a legal, registered voter, aren't you?) for the candidate you feel can best represent you, from the local level on up. Get involved in civic affairs and your community. Don't be a passive and then whine when you don't feel that your best interests are being represented. YOU (general) put these people in power.
We reap what we sow (in most cases). The rest of the time, we just have to make an educated guess (note the operative word here - "educated") and learn from our mistakes. Apparently, learning from our mistakes is not our strong suit...but it's gaining ground.

I don't know if it is really that we support it..I think that mainly we just go along with it. We are told from the time we are born that this is a "free country" I do not believe it is free. You know what I do think..and hope..that people that are sick of this government would get together and try to run it themselves..kick bush out of office...make things better..over turn these money sucking people. That is all the government wants..is our money. Any law or ordinance they make...it is so if someone breaks the law, they can get money from it. Why do we sit back? I don't know. If I were a man, and had some guts and had people to back me up, I may not sit back and let them make decisions for me. I think it is about time someone, somewhere takes a stand.

I know our crop's are free sing our buildings are exploding and the weather isn't that great. Let's drive around in circle's a couple more time and see if we can melt the polar ice caps. The Definition of the Government is Retarded the power they hold is in there holster on there belt. I cant wait tell our younger Generation to show them how to do it, out with the old in with the new. I will see you in 10 to 20.

The 16th amendment was never ratified by the proper number of states to become law, so you don't really have to pay income taxes.

You can actually file with the government to stop paying taxes. It would mean that you can't vote, and you are actually surrendering your citizenship.
