I answered a similar question recently, and this is what I suggested:
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle. Also the other books in the series: A Wind in the Door, A Swiftly Tilting Planet, Many Waters. Probably any of her books, although I don't think I've read them all. I've loved L'Engle since I was 11 or 12, and still read them many, many, years later!
There are sooo many more books too!
Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee (one of my FAVORITES!)
I could go on and on, but this will get you started!
Also....are you a YOUNG teen? 13 or so? If so, you would probably enjoy, "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret" by Judy Bloom, and any other of her books. Actually, even if you are older, you'd probably enjoy them....especially "Forever".
Oh, and "Go Ask Alice" by anonymous is an enjoyable book, although many will argue that it is not a real diary, but is actually propaganda (anti drugs). Still a good read though!

Hmm...Twilight and New Moon by Stephenie Meyer ARE very good-highly recomend them. But also, there's Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, any book by Sarah Dessen (though if you have a problem with things like sex and other mature themes, stay away from her books), any book by Jaclyn Moriarty (my favorite's The Year of Secret Assignment, but Feeling Sorry for Celia is good, as is her newest book which I can't remember the title to). Bass Ackwards and Belly Up is good too, but I can't remember the author-highly recomend it. Umm...I think that's it, since it's almost midnight and I'm too lazy to go get up and look at my bookcase for more books. Happy reading!

Okay, someone already said the "Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging" series (Georgia Nicholson series by Louise Rennison). My fav in that series is either "On the Bright Side, I'm now the girlfriend of a sex god" or "Startled by his furry shorts". I'm pretty sure there are 7 books in the series so far.
The "Gossip Girl" series is popular, but I thought they were kinda dull.
Um, I loved the book "Elsewhere" by Gabrielle Zevin
Also try "Pretties" and "Uglies" by Scott Westerfield and "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer. And the "Calypso Chronicles" by Tyne O'Connell the "A-List" books by Zoey Dean, and "The Principles of Love" books from Emily Franklin.
Happy reading!

I don't know if you like thrillers but if you do try "Angelhair" by Joseph Noga. You can read a preview of the book on the authors website www.joenoga.com Check it out you might like a good thriller. If so, pass the book along to a friend.

NUMBER THE STARS is about two young Scandanavian girls who are caught up in the German rise to power before the Holocaust. It is a beautiful story of two families and a good introduction to the Holocaust if you know very little about that time in history.
Enjoy!
