It depends on where it is located. The cleaning product Goo Gone works well on many things. One of the many things it removes is grease stains. We use it at work all the time. It removes many different things. I included a link to the product.

Try sprinkling baking soda on fresh oil spill/stain. Let it sit for about 5 minutes then use an old tooth brush to sweep area and rinse with cool water The is good for clothes and carpet. After the baking soda, I would try Dawn dish soap on spot. If that does not get it out the only other thing that I have had any luck with is "simple green" cleaner/concentrate. It stinks like all get out but it is a really good degreaser.

Make a paste of Dawn and Baking Soda. Apply it to the stain and let it sit overnight. Wash as usual.

If it is to large of a stain, like on a shirt, I will putsome dawn on it and let it sit for a few minutes before putting it into the washer.

Try pretreating your clothes with Tide. I use Fels Naptha on my clothes when they have tough stains. Dawn dish soap would also work because it's a degreaser.
