perhaps you might wonder why you give someone the "power" to "make you" sad, etc. and then, of course you blame them for your "hurt". wake up!! don't be a very ordinary human doing constant drama facilitated by lack of proper knowledge and understanding of what being a wise human requires. read *the complete idiot's guide to toltec wisdom* and spare yourself decades of unnecessary pain and grief. this is not a joke. good luck!! ;-)

Yes I do.
For example, someone you don't care for goes out with someone you love...it's gonna hurt but you EXPECTED IT , the one you love the most does the same thing...and your heart is just broken because you did not expect that from them.
Or a guy that you were talking to for 3 months could all of a sudden be with someone else, but if someone you've been married for a long time leaves you for someone else, it hurts terribly. It's all about shock. You let your gaurd down with the one you love the most and you get comfortable, so if something happens it hurts you more than anything because you didn't see it coming and it's hard to get your gaurd back up.

I absolutely do believe this. I am living with my boyfriend, and we've been together for 2 1/2 years. I love him to death, and he is my favorite person in the world. When someone, like a co-worker, or even a friend, puts me down, i usually just let it roll off my back. But if my boyfriend ever puts me down, or says something hurtful it crushes me. His feelings matter to me most, and i have a hard time handling it when he hurts me, either intentionally, or not intentionally.

Yes I do. Because generally it's the person you care about the most and they make you the happiest by returning your love. If they spurn, reject, mock, or hate you, they can hurt you more because they aree closer to you.

Yes, I agree that it's me who can make myself the most happy or sad. It's you that you spend all of your time with. I do agree, though, that others can TRY to make us happy, or try to hurt us.

Yes. I've done it to myself many times. It's made me (and continues to make me) a better person.
