If diagonal is pronounced di-A-gon-al (note the stress on the "a"), wouldn't hexagonal be pronounced hex-A-gon-al? And octagonal oct-A-gonal?
Some of my friends have recently suggested that it's pronounced like hexagon, but with an extra "al": hex-a-GON-al (stress on the "gon").
Sounds terrible to me. =) Do you agree? Do you have a site that indicates the proper pronunciation?

I say it as heks-ah-gon-ahl. Works for me.

it should be pronounced heXAgonal... think they just want to feel different/cool from others :)
