Prince was not too charmed witht he Foo Fighters covering one of his songs. Prince got back at them by covering Best of You, preceded by the classic All along the Watchtower.
Watchtower was originally a Bob Dylan song, but after Jimi Hendix covered it, the song will always be remembered by Jimi Hendix' version. By starting with Watchtower, Prince put his cover of Best of You in that context, suggesting that from now on that song will be remembered by his interpretation. And his version rocks!!! Prince pulled a Jimi on the Foo Fighters

Prince does lots of covers in his live act. He's done Led Zeppelin, Beyonce, Outkast, etc.
In a way, this could be seen as a return of the respect the Foo Fighters paid him by covering Darling Nikki.

It's a Foo Fighters song. I wondered too since he writes so many songs for other artists. Http://www.allmusic.com is a great website anytime you wonder who writes a particular song or who's covered it. :)
