I went to the Er today for swelling and a headache. My blood pressure was great but my heart rate was fast. When they checked the babies heart rate i got really scared. It would go from really really fast then slow right down and then speed up again. The nurse left and then came back to check my pulse again and she said it was better now but did not tell me what it was. She left and never came back. My OB came into the Er and he saw me personally but he did not seam too comcerned about our heart rates. He sent me home and told me to call him on a few days..Should i be concerned. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

It's pretty normal for baby's heart rate to change quite a bit, even little movements can really speed up his/her little heart, which is actually a good sign. How fast is really really fast though? If it was jumping really high, you should call your OB and talk to him first thing in the morning. Maybe ask for a nonstress test. If you aren't satisfied with the answers you get then talk to another doctor. Do NOT let him blow you off. Trust your instincts please.

From what i was told, babies heart rate and breathing rate can change sporadically from one minute to the next. If you are concerned with not feeling the baby moving much I would go back to the ER. They might give you an ultrasound or something.

I would be worried too if I were you. Did they say that you were dehydrated possibly. If not I would still suggest that you drink plenty of water. something similar happened to me and I was dehydrated. As long as you feel lots of movement with the baby he is probably fine but go get another ultrasound in a couple of days anyway.

when they are monitoring babies heart beat it can be nice and strong..the baby can move and the monitor can start to pick up your heart beat...and would not be able to read babies...it happened about a week ago..when i was 25 weeks...you also gots to remember right now there is alot of room for the baby to move around until your about 30weeks..then baby starts to get cramped up in there..and you will be able to feel baby moving around all the time..but its a mother's instinct to worry and if you need to have your mind at ease..call your docotor and have him see you asap!! good luck!! hope this helps

I don't know how far along you are but when i was over my due date my babys heart beat became irregular they said it shouldn't be anything to worry about and when he was finally born it was normal again. but all threw my labor it was still irregular. so i don't know if they said its nothing then it shouldn't be anything. you could always make a doc. appt. just to make sure.
