Satin is a kind (type)of weave. It can be made out of natural or manmade products. So it is "made of" anything one wants to use (within fabric reason)-Personally I like silk satin because it's natural and much softer and more beautiful-Hope this helps-Mellie

Satin is made out of a nice smooth fabric like silk but not that shiny and slippery more like a duller version of silk.
