I want to get started on a good anime so to help, i've seen:
Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain, FLCL, Excel Saga, Full Metal Panic, Full Metal Alchemist, Outlaw Star, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Naruto, Inuyasha, Chobits, Samurai Champloo, .hack//sign, Escaflowne.(maybe i forgot one)
I liked them all but Trigun was my favorite, (they're kind of in the order of how much i like them)
I want to see something that has humor in but also a serious side so i can get into it. I also like action with only medium amounts of mecha stuff and some romance. Comedy is definately good too. :)
I really hope somebody can help me out with this.

Slayers is a great series and pretty funny. It's been around a while and has a big following, but not a "w00t! It's on [as]" following. It has excellent story arcs and will basically have a few really funny episodes and then get a little more serious on the story. After this it's a good mix of comedy, drama, action, and romance (lots of tension there). The characters are well developed and likable.
Only thing to keep in mind is that the movies and the TV series are pretty much separate story wise. I'd start on the series then move to the movies. That way you can fully appreciated Naga! XD

My favorites right now are those on Adult Swim. Check out Trinity Blood and (of course) Bleach. Eureka Seven is good too with a lot of action but has a lot of romance in it as well. Otherwise my suggestion would be to stop by YouTube and do a few random searches. I have found some really bizarre anime that way. :)

Well, in my opinion you've got the pretty much the best down;
Naruto, Inu Yasha, and Full Metal Alchemist are what get people 'hooked' nowadays. But apparently 'Bleach' is very popular, and so is 'Death Note'. I've never actually seen Death Note, but Bleach is 'pretty funny'. But if you ask me, there's a bit much action.
My personal favorites are Naruto and Power Puff Girls Z.
Power Puff Girls Z is a Japanese/Anime version of America's favorite TV Trio, the Power Puff Girls. It's actually pretty interesting if you like relating things and 'squee'ing. You should try it! Look it up on YouTube. It's awesome!

Hi I strongly recommend Samurai Deeper Kyo and you might also like Air Gear, D.Gray-man, and Fate/Stay Night.
