i would ask him why he said no way? why is that not an option? is his name better than yours? ask him about it and talk about it. once you get an answer, then you can decide whether you are over reacting or not.

Why does the baby have to have two last names? I guess if you are planning to get divorced it might help, but honestly I don't see the point. Ya'll should agree on the names not fight over them. You make a list, he makes a list...then trade. Cross of the ones that you are thinking "NO WAY!" and he does the same and then you can come together and hopefully decide. Look up the meanings of the names. Having a baby is a beautiful thing, it shouldn't cause so much stress. You guys are supposed to be partners not rivals. I don't know, I have three kids, all girls, and we had fun naming them, and they have beautiful names that we both chose together.

If that's life then we must live in the 1930's. Open discussion doesn't start out like "no way you will do this"! Get a better answer. If it's good like the name will rhyme in a way kids will make fun of them in school then YOU will have to give it up. Communication suks at your house though. THAT'S what needs to change.

yes, it's normal. I had a name picked out for a girl since I was 15, and I loved the name, then to be shot down when I was pregnant. It hurt real bad. Compromise, come up with some good names to following your name.

First, tell your husband to get over himself. Secondly, it sounds like you want to use your name as your child's middle name, which I think is wonderful. Lots and lots of people do it. Thirdly, tell him if he grows up and stops acting like an idiot, you will let him have a say in the baby's first name. Then smack him upside the head and tell him to rub your feet.

You are distracting yourself from a wonderful thing. Normally, the man is more than happy to delegate that job to the wife. In my case, I let my wife pick the first name of both of our kids and I got to pick their second names. No pressure from grandparents.

My husband would not agree either. Is this really worth fighting over? Let him have this chauvinistic idea. You can fight on the others.

Grow up.... and don't have any children until the two of you are adults..... You are over-reacting, and he is a baby himself...
