I am scheduled for induction Feb 14th. In the meantime, I am so incredibly uncomfortable I need some tips on how to keep from going nuts. He's putting to much pressure for walking to be helpful, I almost feel like taking a week long bath. lol

Any ideas on helping make it a bit more bearable? I have a two year old to chase around so my back is killing me. Typical pregnancy complaints, I know =P I have a birthing ball which definitely helps, but only for so long.

Don't want any "baby will come when he's ready" (anti induction) comments. Nor am I looking to try and self-induce. I can wait till the 14th, I just want some ideas on how to pass time more comfortably.

Has anyone ever tried acupuncture? I heard it can help relieve some of the pain.

Take a bath, go swimming, use a pregnancy pillow, drinks lots of water and eat well, get things ready for the new baby, wash all the clothes in baby safe detergent, read pregnancy/parenting books, watch cheesy baby shows on TLC, take it easy. =)

A body pillow is super helpful at this point - try laying on your side/stomach (as much as you can stand) and cradling the pillow to relieve the strain on your back. Warm baths are the best at this point because your baby belly is buoyant and the temperature relieves your aching muscles. You might try teaching your two year old to give back massages - every little bit helps! Good luck until the 14th and with your delivery.

I am being induced at the beginning of March and I too am getting uncomfortable, I don't really know what to do either to help ease the pain but have you ever thought about a prenatal massage or something- I know it might only be temporary but it might help. I just try and lay on my left side as much as possible and that actually seems to help.

I did acupuncture in the early days of my pregnancy and it got rid of morning sickness. I fully believe it can help you now as it aligns the energies escially round the areas causing discomfort.

Good luck!

By the way, go get a pregnancy massage or a pedicure, worked wonders for me in my last weeks.

I don't know where you live, but I live in Florida, so I'm sure it's easier for me. This is what I do, get into a heated pool & float. Seriously, just float. It sounds weird, but that feeling of being weightless is great. If you have the money, get a hotel room for a night and go in their heated indoor pool. It would ease your pain some. Sorry, I feel your pain. Good Luck.
