I know the Foo Fighters covered "Darling Nikki" a while back but why did Prince cover "The Best of You" during the half time show?

I was wondering the same question. No disrespect to Prince... but I would of rather heard the Foo Fighters sing "The Best of You"...not that he did a bad job or anything. I was surprised that they had Prince do the half time... he hasnt had a new cd out or anything has he? Maybe they are still freaked out from the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake incident.... going back to the older artists

Prince was not too charmed witht he Foo Fighters covering one of his songs. Prince got back at them by covering Best of You, preceded by the classic All along the Watchtower.
Watchtower was originally a Bob Dylan song, but after Jimi Hendix covered it, the song will always be remembered by Jimi Hendix' version. By starting with Watchtower, Prince put his cover of Best of You in that context, suggesting that from now on that song will be remembered by his interpretation. And his version rocks!!! Prince pulled a Jimi on the Foo Fighters

I would say its because he knows how talentless he actually is & had to use the brilliance of the Foo to get a little spotlight. I wonder what the Foo think about it?!?!?!? What an insult to a great song.

No idea. I think a better question was why he was wearing that du rag on his head. He's going to get a lot of guff for that.

Prince is a small purple douch bag and I want to use a pair of his own high heels and smash his face in.
