The documentary- Paperclips.
If you get the chance to rent it or buy it, it was very thought provoking, I loved it!

I am Jewish also, but not traditional, I am a Jew for Jesus. No joke.

"The Pianist" is probably the one film that depicts the conditions in Warsaw the most accurately. The director, Roman Polanski, was a survivor of the Kovno ghetto and was adamant that everything be as accurate as possible. Adrian Brody's performance is incredibly powerful, and the entire film is one not to be missed.
While "Schindler's List" is an amazing film, it does have more artistic expression and strays from historical accuracy. Specifically the film being in black and white. Spielberg himself said that he only sees the Holocaust in black and white, but that is not the best way to teach about it. For survivors, it was color, the sky was blue and yet, they were still in Auschwitz.
Also, look at the documentary "Imaginary Witness" which takes a look at almost every Holocaust film made from the 1940's until "Schindler's List."

Hi Monica, I'm Jewish, too. I loved Diary of Anne Frank and The Pianist. Still haven't gotten around to seeing Schindler's List for some unknown reason.

My favorite would have to be SCHINDLER'S LIST (1993), if we're talking about Hollywood films. It was a wonderful story of Oskar Schindler, who saved hundreds of people from the gas chamber by negotiating with the Nazis (Schindler had a factory business at the time, and he said that they were essential workers). If you get a chance, I urge you to see this film!!

IMDB summary -
Oskar Schindler is a vain, glorious and greedy German businessman who becomes unlikely humanitarian amid the barbaric Nazi reign when he feels compelled to turn his factory into a refuge for Jews. Based on the true story of Oskar Schindler who managed to save about 1100 Jews from being gassed at the Auschwitz concentration camp. A testament for the good in all of us.

Schindlers List---it seems to be the most dramatic and historically correct( i own the directors cut) did you know it took about 5 years or more to make that movie? also every single name in that movie is a real name of someone who went through that.
