put the rear of the car up on jack stands, then start engine and put it in reverse. let it run in reverse until desired milage is accquired.

Is it the car's regular or the trip odometer?
You can't legally reset a regular odometer but the trip odometer has a knob sticking out from the glass cover that you push in and hold to reset.

It is illegal to alter the odometer!!!!!!
There should be instructions on how to reset the tripodometer in your car's owners manual.

Hold the trip button in for about ten seconds. Just hold it in, it will reset the odometer.

It has to be done by a licsened technician. Usually at a repair shop or dealer. It takes special eletronic equipement.
