with an infinite number of stars in the universe, i think there has to be at least one other planet floating around its sun that has life. it might possibly just be bacteria, but life is life.

How many more of these questions?
Is there life on another planet?
Is space infinate?
Can people travel to other solar systems?
It's like there's only 5 questions that play over and over again.
Look, these kind of questions are like someone wondering how to get to the moon in 1 AD. You can rack your brain about it all you want, but it's pointless. But a Roman in 1 AD doesn't have even close to the technology to get to the moon. And we aren't even close to finding life on other planets, since it's becomming less and less likely we'll find anything alive on anything in our solar system, so then you'll wonder about what other solar systems. Well, we're no where close to being able to reach other solar systems alive. We'll get there eventually, but since cryogenic freezing's a farse (it destroys the subject's memory) and some sort of Longevity Vaccine is equally far away, everyone alive now will almost definately be long, long dead before we'll ever answer your question.
My suggestion: try not to think about it. There's plenty of technologies that are possible in your lifetime and problems perfectly solvable, like laser weaponry or affordable space tourism. Or maybe just using the time instead to think about and solve any personal problems you might be experiencing at the time or in the near future.

In our solar sytem one (Earth ) has life. I am sure we have neighbours too. I am excited that at least we are close too get an answer with in next 25 years. Life on another planet somewhere else in the universe is very likely however the chances that we will be able to contact this lifeform is very miniscule.
What's even more interesting is: Is human civilization ready to learn to handle learning about the existence of another intellegent lifeform in the universe?

Life on other planets is VERY likely. Just think, there are billions of billions of stars, some with planets, just think... by probabilty, there MUST be life out there somewhere!
