I am already aware of how to properly care for the pregnant fish and what to do when the fry are born, but I'm wondering. Are there any visible signs right before the fish gives birth? Any certain behavior such as going to a certain part of the tank and just staying there, or going into the foilage? Also, are the fry visible as they are comming out, or are they far too small to even see?

Also, the male swordtail has been following the pregnant female around non-stop. Is there any reason for that?

On or a few day before they give birth they won't eat, they hiding or staying away from other fish, In a breeding net I have noticed they throw themselves against the sides, And they have quickened breathing. Other fish will follow them in the tank. I have also noticed that when a female is in main tank she will usually sit close to the heater when she is close.

There aren't really any visible signs of impending birth from the female. You have already noted males following her around and this is often a sign. Not just males but others of the species following her. To be honest they are looking for an easy meal as the babies are born.

The fry will be readily visible coming out and will look just like a miniature copy of the parents with minor color differences.

I have found with my guppys and platys, that the male follows the female around before she gives birth. And at least with the guppys, I could see them right after birth, but they come out so fast, it's hard to see them actually coming out. I'd say if the male is already following the female around and if she's been pregnant for a while, it's probably time to isolate her. Good luck. I've really had fun with livebearing fish.

The male is probably "doing it" with her.... erm.

Some visible signs I HAVE heard of and have some of my guppies show are: VERY fat, Not eating, Hiding/ staying away from fish when very fat, squared stomach...

I usually put mine in when super fat. Also, some of my guppies that have a TON of babies have fry eyes visible in there stomach.

oh... and... the fry should be visible.

I notice my males chase the biggest guppy, which is the fattest, most pregnaunt.

No, swords can no longer mate with mollies. stay bearing fish in basic terms seem to purpose to get action any way they might in case you be attentive to what I propose, like how canines in many cases hump random thins that are no longer evan animals. And this might rigidity out the female mollies a lot. There might desire to be a minimum of two times as many women persons as there are adult males.
