Many insects are involved in the decomposition process a body goes through after death. The fly, the beetle, etc. There are many insects you could say have consumed a person.

Many many insects have eaten parts of human beings.
I am unaware of any that have consumed all of one
since bones, etc. are largely undigestable by anything
other than bacteria.

they'll all say ants.. yeah, those huge nasty rain forrest ones that can eat a goat whole and while it's alive.. hmmm maybe those ants can eat a baby human??... BUT i'm a firm believer that cockroaches can do the job just as good. why? they're hard to get rid of once they show up. think about it, they could so have world domination if they ever got the smarts to.

There are numerous insects with a decomposing role in the food chain, let alone flesh eating ones. There is no "only" to it.

African army ants will definitely do the trick. I think there's actually a movie about it. (can't think of the name) They swarm into villages, knee high and eat anything in their path, including humans.
