Both of them seem to represent the "American way of dressing". Which one do you like best? why?

Old Navy is definitely better when shopping for basics - solid color tees, graphics tees, tank tops, collared button-downs, flip-flops, PJ bottoms, activewear, etc. But they also have a variety of "fashion items" - the trendier stuff for "going out" - this is how they try to compete with other specialty stores. While Gap also sells the basics, they sell a lot of the same things that Old Navy does at a higher price, but quality at Gap is better. Some clothes at the Gap fit better - especially the pants and jeans, which is when I think it's worth it to pay more when something fits better and makes you look better. Just b/c jeans at Old Navy are $25 doesnt mean you have to buy them. I would rather spend $65 on a great pair at the Gap. But I would never spend $15 on 1 tank top at the Gap when I know I could them on sale at Old Navy for 2 for $15. Either way, both stores are great, it just depends on how much money you want to spend and what kind of clothes you're looking for.

Goodwill and Salvation Army. All that Gap an Old Navy stuff ends up there anyway, and it all is on everyone at the same time. Be original and not a copy of what is being sold at those two overrated stores.

Gap, it's more refined than old navy (not saying that old navy doesn't have some cute clothes). Gap also has much better quality.
