letting go of my affair. to make this short. i told him i was letting go of him that he was free of me. I told him i was hurting. all he could tell me he didnt have the answers. he know where i was coming from. that he would leave me alone. after 12 years he dont have the answer. this is killing me tearing me apart. i need advise does sound he cares or doesnt care.

He probably cares, - - - after all, you were together for 12 years.
He just doesn't care enough.
Time heals. Grieve for awhile, then pick up the pieces of your life and move on. Be strong. I wish you the best.

It sounds like this affair makes you feel worse rather than makes you feel better. For that reason alone, it doesn't matter whether or not he cares, what matters is that this is not good for you. Go heal your hurt and get on with your life. You deserve someone that you know cares, and there is someone out there who will.

Why does it matter if he cares or not, there was obviously something that made you feel it was time to let go, so follow your heart and just let go
