Cavalry; The Mongol Hordes under Ghengis Khan. They conquered all of ancient China.)

I concur with the opinion that the Spartans were the greatest warriors in history, since they were bred for it and trained all their lives for warfare. No other civilization, to my knowledge, has been quite so focused on warfare.
I can't wait to see The 300.
