While moving our freezer from the garage to the basement we noticed a terrible odor coming from the back of it on the metal. We think maybe a mouse or something fell behind it and died. I scrubbed the area and it still reeks! Does anyone know how to get rid of the smell....not just cover it up?

I had this on my fridge once. We had to take the back off of the fridge to find it and get it out. Good thing we did, even though your not supposed to, it was stuck in the blade. It would have totally killed our fridge.)

Metal is a solid surface and if cleaned well should remove the odor . The insulation may be what you smell. I would check it out it can be replaced.

Mr. Mouse probably met his maker in the insulation near the compressor. You might have to do a little searching to find his remains.
