From the headline this seemed to be an honest almost philosophical question, but I tend to agree based on the detail that it sounds more like a personals ad. Still, from a philosophical view, there probably is no such thing as a totally honest person. It is simply too difficult to always be honest; often the complexity of a situation would be impractical to communicate in full to another person. Also, I don't think anyone is truly able to be totally honest to himself. In this case, it sounds as though there may have been bad experiences, probably from some unexpected rejection, or incomplete disclosure of the other persons situation or past. But such complete disclosure right off is almost certain to poison any possibility of a developing relationship. Similarly, some relationships end abruptly with no further communication. This can be very upsetting. But it just might be too painfrul and time consuming for the one breaking off to go through the needed explanations. Back to the simple question as asked: yes I do know some generally honest gay males, both older and younger than you; so if you are patient and have realistic expectations, I see no reason why you shouldn't meet some.

There are plenty out there. Check out some of the groups in your area instead of bars or the club scene. Find someone who has some similar interests. Join a gay softball league, or dart league or any other gay group that have an activity you enjoy.

The Internet can be great too, but you will find bad apples, and will have to be patient. I met my partner through the Internet and we've been together for 7 years now.

There are lots out there, but you gotta look. You may want to try different ways of finding men. Clubs, the Internet, etc aren't normally the best places to look for guys that want more then just sex (that goes for straight people as well), but not always the case.

Usually the best way to meet people who are good "relationship" material would be through friends who know you well.

It's tough to find an honest person (gay or straight!). Are you looking for friendship or more? I'd love another friend. Write me.

Yes, I know many honest gay men.

Why? Are you trying to use Yahoo! Answers as a personals site? That's not what it's for, may I remind you.

Yeah, I live with two single gay men- but not sure that either of them are ready for a serious relationship..... sorry. Try match.com....... my good friend found his partner there.
