I have been considering this purchase for some time. I just want the best product for my money. Naturally, every company's site tells me why theirs is the best. Anyone have any thoughts?

lite on, samsung, LG, and plextor ( the best from research ), Philips, Pioneer, Nec, Sony and BenQ .... these are the most selling manufacturers,
Pioneer the worst in many cases, Sony expensive but not worthy, samsung just another usual but wud do the job kind, Nec better than most available, LG fastest growing and better in quality,
answer for you - Lite On, LG, Nec (best value vs quality)
Plextor - expensive and best as reviews say.
depending on your needs and budget, go for the right one gurl, order on www.newegg.com and sure you'll get a DVD burner for as low as $30, if ur an online shopper make sure u check it out, good luck, hope my answer helped.

don't buy lite on worst CD /DVD DRIVES I've ever owned nothing but problems. finally shattered one of CDS and jammed the drawer making it very hard to remove the debris. now it's just a piece of junk.

I will suggest asus cd burner because it can read all the cds in the market.i'm using asus and its satisfying.I've tried the other brands but not satisfying.
