WELL IS GOOD IN A WAY AND IS BAD AS WELL.

THIS IS A KEY FOR YOUNG GIRLS TO GO AHEAD AND HAVE SEX AND THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEM BECAUSE THE LAW IS PROTECTING THEM AND NIETHER HIM OR HER WILL GET IN TROUBLE.

NOT THAT THEY ARE NOT HAVING SEX NOW WITH OR WITH OUT THE LAW BUT STILL .... WHAT EVER HAPPEND TO WAITING???

NO 16 YR OLD YOUNG TEENAGER IS GOING TO TELL ME SHE KNOWS THE MEANING OF RESPOSABILITIES. 1 OUT 100 MIGHT KNOW. BUT WHAT HAPPENDS TO THE REST OF 99??? IF THEY GET PREGNANT THEY JUST DUMP THEIR CHILDREN ON THEIR PARENTS AND HEY IS COOL THE LAW PROTECTS THEM.

THE LAW PROTECTS AND TAKES AWAY THE RIGHT THE PARENTS HAS. NOW PARENTS HAVE NO SAYING IN THE RAISING OF THEIR CHILDREN, BECAUSE AGAIN THE LAW PROTECTS THE YOUNG TEENAGERS THAT ARE HAVING SEX AT THE AGE OF 16.

AM NOT NAIVE, I KNOW GIRLS FROM THE AGE OF 12 ARE HAVING SEX AND HAVING BABIES. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHERE ARE THE CONGRESSMEN THAT PASS THIS BILL, WHEN TEENAGERS ARE HAVING ALL KINDS OF SEXUAL ACTIVITIES. WHAT HAPPENDS TO THE KIDS AND LETS NOT FORGET THE PARENTS.

BUT ABOVE ALL, IF A LAW IS GOING TO BE PASS THAT AT THE AGE OF 16 A GIRL OR A BOY CAN HAVE SEX, WHY IN THE HELL DID THEY TOOK OFF THE SCHOOL SEX-EDUCATION? FOR PARENTS -- THINK ABOUT IT.

I MYSELF RATHER HAVE A 16 YR OLD HAVING SEX BUT WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT SHE OR HE CAN TAKE A CLASS IN SCHOOL OF SEXUAL EDUCATION.

While I don't like the government butting their noses into our personal lives, I have seen time and time again so many young girls getting pregnant, not knowing what to do, how to use birth control and unable to say no. There was only one pregnancy while I was in high school. We were also more knowledged. We were taught sex ed. I know they have removed most of it from schools for some stupid reason...I know why, I don't want to get into that.

I guess they think this is the easy way to control things. I think they shouldn't ignore the fact that we need some serious sexual education. Obviously taking it out of schools has only made things worse. But, something has to be done.

I totally agree! It's 16 in in England. Then again, we have the highest rate of teen pregnancy in EEurope (if not the developed world).

From what little I've read, the countries with the lower ages of sexual consent (Japan's is 12, I think) have far less problems with that kind of thing.

I think that 16 years old is a little bit earlier, however it depends on the person, generally speaking there are girls with a high level of mental maturity at 16, and there are others with a really low level. In general i think 16 is too early and 18 would be a better choice.

I agree with 16...Because i graduate from high school at 17...and once i have enter college i think the choice to have sex is my OWN.
