Nerve tissue and cells. If damaged, they are not replaced. They tend not to have any redundancy features. With other tissue, such as muscle, damaged tissue cannot be repaired, but other tissue in the area may compensate by increasing in size under the increased workload. Some tissue such as tongue, liver, skin have varying ability to repair and regenerate, but eventually it reaches a limit and scar tissue replaces normal tissue.
