I think Buckingham is the first one that comes to mind (for most people) because it still has a monarch, but Versailles and others are stunningly beautiful.

Probably Versailles, simply because of its extravagance, also because now its a museum. Then Buckingham, because it has over 1,000 rooms and is lived in by the Queen. The Taj Mahal is not a Palace, it was built as a Burial Place for a Sultans love. Think of it more like a graveyard or mausoleum.
