Hi. I know that alcohol burns much faster than petrol, but is it true that if I mix 50/50 petrol and alcohol in the fuel, it will make it a lot faster.

What sort of damage would this do to the engine, over long term?

I know someone who put pure alcohol into a petrol engine and his engine overheated.

Mix is never as strong as 50/50 and you can only get an injector to cause a short boost of power on a drag strip - not on the street. Is not street legal.More than an occasional short spray of alcohol will permanently ruin an engine.

Add nitrous oxide injection system if you want more than occasional use.

Either is an expensive modification to your car. Cost a lot.

each and every ear of corn or stalk of sugar cane used for gas is one a lot less that human beings can devour. If each and every thing interior the U. S. ran on biofuels, virtually each and every sq. inch of the country may should be farmed to produce gas. meaning no nutrition, so no longer countless element in having gas extremely, considering we are going to all be useless. Biofuel is smart in very few circumstances, Brazil makes use of sugar cane that is a strategies extra effective than corn yet that still calls for farmland be used for some thing as well generating nutrition. Ethanol interior the U. S. is heavily subsidized yet that is nevertheless expensive and as somebody else pronounced, we've already considered undesirable Mexican households not able to locate the money for corn tortillas and different nutrition shortages for this reason. Corn ethanol calls for further means than you get from the gas making it a foul theory.
