Hello all and thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I'm looking into a honeymoon for my fiancee and I after our wedding this August. We live in Minnesota and are interested in some nice beaches and some scuba diving in a romantic setting. While we typically are pretty adventurous, I think we'd like to stick to something relaxing and safe here. We want to try someplace new so that rules out Cancun and Cozumel. I want to spend about $3000. (does that sound reasonable?)

I've been looking a bit at the Dominican Republic and some of those other islands down there, but am a bit nervous that August is around hurricane season. We plan to be gone for about 10 days so we need someplace that has a bit more to do than just lay on the beach. Things we'd like are:

- Romantic
- Scuba Diving
- Snorkling
- Nice weather in August
- Good price
- Great Beach
- All inclusive
- Relaxing
- Near other activites
- Great nature

Thanks!

My husband and I went to Tahiti on our all-inclusive honeymoon in 2005. We spent about $6,000 on our honeymoon, but you can plan for something less expensive. Everything you listed as a prerequisite for your honeymoon, is available in Tahiti. We stayed at the Intercontinental Spa and Resort on the island of Moorea and Tahiti. We had a little beach side bungalow that was VERY romantic. Unfortunately, We didn't get to Bora Bora, but will definitely get there on our next trip to the South Pacific. See your local travel agency for assistance in planning your honeymoon. They take away A LOT of the pressure and arranged all of our tours/excursions to plane tickets. All we had to do was show up at the airport w/ our passports.

Good Luck!!!

BTW, The Cook Islands are in Tahiti. They are beautiful!!!

I would start with a 5 days cruise in Alaska (Alaska in August is a Paradise). Then I'll fly out to Bora-Bora, Leeward Islands (the original name in the Tahitian language is "Pora Pora" and it means First Born). Enjoy your honeymoon!

I would say Taveuni, Fiji. Its one of the best places in the world to see soft Coral. Their are great all inclusive dive deals, very romantic August is their summer, very relaxing, great for Eco-tourism.
