It's illegal to discriminate against a job applicant on the basis of age. But everyone knows that it happens anyway sometimes. But many employers WANT someone who is a litle more mature, and has work experience, so with them your age and experience would be an advantage. Stress that on an interview. 52 isn't old - you still have a lot of years to work.

Good luck.

I sincerely wish you all the luck, 52 isnt really considered old. If you are having problems in a particular field maybe you could go back to school and get government aid to support you and family. There are plenty of 2-year degrees at community colleges that could help you get retrained in a new field quickly.

so sorry to hear this, times are a real pain, huh?
if you are a good qualified worker, there is always a job to fill somewhere. find something to get by on and work for something better along the way.
you might even qualify for some educational help to better your chances when applying for a job.
do some research, you have plenty of time. going back to school is not a bad idea.
